Short Bio

After obtaining my medical degree at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, I made my PhD studies at the University Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris on epigenetic factors and transcriptional regulation. As a postdoctoral fellow and later as a senior research scientist/assistant professor at the Institute of Enzymology in Budapest, I continued my studies in this field taking as an example the disease gene of pseudoxanthoma elasticum, ABCC6. As a Marie-Curie visiting professor at Université d’Evry val d’Essonne/Généthon my interest turned towards the study of epigenomic changes in diseases and environmental (nutritional) stresses. Our group acquired considerable expertise in molecular biology, especially in epigenetics and the investigation of transcriptional regulation.
