Short Bio

Prof. Kirsten Müller-Vahl is a Professor of Psychiatry and a specialist in both general psychiatry and neurology. Since 1995, she is the head of the Tourette syndrome (TS) outpatient department at her clinic, the largest specialist Tourette clinic in Germany. She is the vice president of the European Society for the Study of Tourette syndrome (ESSTS) and is involved in several national, European and international scientific projects related to TS including EMTICS, TS-EUROTRAIN, and GWAS. Her special interest is in different clinical aspects, treatment and neuroimaging studies in TS patients. There is a close cooperation with several associated clinics and institutes at her university clinic. She is the author of several scientific papers, review articles and national and international guideline papers related to different aspects of TS.
