Project Title: Developing algorithmic prediction models for TS and related disorders

Short Bio

Hi, my name is John Alexander and I'm a PhD student at Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. I finished my B.tech Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from University of Kerala, India and a Masters in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from University of Leeds, UK. I worked shortly as a visting researcher at the Network Modeling Group in Instituto Gulbenkian De Ciencia, Portugal and carried on working as a Bioinformatics Researcher at University of Leeds/ Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine. Much of the work at the bioinformatics technology group involved collaborating with researchers from various projects and developing pipeline/tools for analyzing highthroughput genomic data. My primary research interest lies in utilizing bioinformatics to understand complex biological systems and finding solutions to biological problems. With the help of a novel algorithmic prediction models and computational methods, my goal is to identify genetic signatures that would predict genetic risk in TS and related disorders.
