Project Title: Neural Correlates of Tourette Syndrome and Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder

Short Bio

Natalie Forde is a junior researcher in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department UMCG. She has a BSc in Chemistry from University College Cork, Ireland and an MSc in Neuropharmacology from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Since graduating she worked at the Clinical Neuroimaging Laboratory, NUIG, as a research assistant on various projects investigating white matter microstructure, with diffusion MRI, in groups with psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She also began investigation into disrupted neural networks with network analysis. Her current position as a PhD candidate allows the continuation of neuroimaging research in psychiatry with a focus on determining the neural correlates of Tourette syndrome and ADHD. And distinguishing which abnormalities are unique or common to the two often comorbid conditions. Her first project will be to investigate brain connectivity in people with ADHD.
